Upcoming Projects We're glad to say we're as busy as ever, and we are currently working on marquetry for an exciting range of Executive Desks for California, some beautiful hand sawn floral panels for coffee tables for a highly prestigious furniture maker, a table depicting black panthers (pics soon), laser engraved perspex for an exciting lighting project and some wonderful laser engraved and laser cut leather for garments.Plenty to do then.
We are proud to announce the addition of another laser cutting machine. With a bigger cutting bed and double the power of our other laser we are now be able to offer new services such etching glass, cutting and etching leather and fretwork. We can also have two completely unrelated jobs on the go simultaneously, three, with handcutting! Phone, fax or email for details. And finally.. Fretsawn Marquetry? It has been drawn to our attention that a laser marquetry company, has used its website to imply that fretsawn marquetry is of an inferior quality to that of the knife or laser. As we have no bias and practice all three methods, we would like to point out that many of the very finest marquetry masterpieces, such as those gracing the Victoria and Albert Museum,London, and the Palace of Versailles are invariably fretsawn. We have a feeling someone found re-writing history easier than mastering the fretsaw. Hand cut or laser? takes a look at the different cutting techniques and why one method is not enough.
